It's certainly incomplete, as there are some new good parts.

But most of the language is still there, and I'd rather imagine the same perspective that helped a lot of programmers coming from other languages adapt to it is still helpful.

True, but some of the things Crockford moans at have been fixed in ES6/ES7
Similarly, certain books show up multiple times, once for each version. It would be great if those were consolidated to the latest version of the book.

An example of this is when you search for Hadoop. You'll find all 4 editions of Tom White's book show up in the top 10 listing.

Why? I'm genuinely curious, as I've only ever seen the book recommend.
It predates ES5 and ES2015. I'm not sure that makes it bad though, it's still a good introduction?
Any recommendations for something more up to date?
I like "Understanding ECMAScript 6" from N. Zakas together with his "Principles of Object Oriented JavaScript" book.
