I like the line of your thinking, but - seems to me the other commenters have it. Sounds more like a advocacy group, or a professional association. I think the actual answer to your question is "for many of us, things are pretty good". Unionization happens with wide-spread abuses; when things generally suck. I don't know what wide-spread abuses there are in software, particularly salaried positions. I don't necessarily need a union, but I do need the information necessary to negotiate better - that sounds like a professional association. |
