The guidelines ask us not to use all caps for emphasis. You can put asterisks around it and it will be italicized instead.

The font I force on HN doesn't allow for italics, so I'd never see the stressor without ALL CAPS.

I suggest using a different font if you'd like to see the italics. Among other things, many people also use italics to identify quoted text.
