If working as intended, this action by the executive in the US should prompt a swift reprisal from Congress, since the executive issuing secret orders to security forces which then go into effect (timed to avoid scrutiny before they happen) is massive overreach and enormously destabilizing. Unfortunately, Congresspeople on both sides seem to have lacked a spine for the better part of a decade. |
