All I can say is that every time I drive through Mountain View, I am followed by or following or passing one of their self drivers, either the Lexus SUV or one of those little Logan's Run vehicles [0]. They get out of Mountain View, too. There was one stretch where a Google autonomous SUV was making the same left turn in Fremont at the same time 3 days straight. We saw it when I drove the kids to school. In my view, Google/Waymo has the most experience and most miles of true autonomy, but I expect they're suffering from the same conflicted management syndrome that scuttled the rest of their robotics efforts.
