Women in _tech_ being 50% of all hired applicants (assuming equality of ability on average) is not the same as women at _Palantir_ being 50% of all hired applicants. The same goes for Asians. If 85% of people applying to Palantir are Asian and we continue to assume equality of ability, then 85% of hired applicants should be Asian. I'm not saying that Palantir is discriminating, these are averages - I'm sure there are tech companies out there where 15% of applicants are Asian but 85% of the work-force is Asian. Palantir is a business, it's here to make as much money as possible. If it can make more money by also recruiting international applicants, I see no reason why it shouldn't. |
