You are really downplaying the growth of solar over the last 10 years. In many places in the US, utility scale solar is the cheapest power you can buy. Prices have gone down from ~$100/W in the 1970s to ~$0.30/W today. The amount of solar installed in the US is growing exponentially. The growth rate will likely slow a bit, but the US already gets 0.5% of its electricity from solar. When factoring in exponential growth, there will be a very significant amount of solar installed in the next 10 years. |
