This is where I see a pretty huge opportunity for facebook. Tie credit card to identity and offer a simple yet robust payment system.

The fact that I'm constantly getting friend requests from facebook accounts which are pretty transparently not real people does not reassure me about the idea of facebook doing identity verification with consequences.

As smartphones become ubiquitous, maybe we can go back to the cypherpunk idea of everyone having a public key.
