I have to agree that it isn't the quintessential book to understanding the right. It starts off with good intentions, but she misses a few things, most likely as a result of not being able to escape her bias. Thank you, I just couldn't find the words myself but "couldn't escape her bias" is a perfect phrasing of what happened.
