I get the feeling that every job requires me to exaggerate how passionate I am about what I'm doing and how strongly I believe in the company's "mission" (I missed several job opportunities before I learned how this game is played). The truth is I would rather work to live than live to work, but I still want to learn and grow where I do work (i.e. work at an innovative company with smart people). Are these mutually exclusive? My current company is good, but I have no idea what I'll do when I realize I can't pretend I like what I do anymore and quit or get fired. |
