Not sure about in USA. But in Canada to get a Braintree account is a giant process that takes several weeks and required submitting a ton of stuff, and you need too meet their minimum transaction volume in order to qualify. That's why I use Stripe. |

One gripe about Stripe is the support emails are really slow, but I can't complain and Paypal is missing as well but I've situations where somebody paid for my software using stolen Paypal account and I had to reverse it.
