I highly agree with the notion that one shouldn't deny one's weaknesses, and instead try to turn them into strengths (as raheemm and joshkaufman have written in this thread). This question, "Are you an information addict?" came at an opportune time, as I just finished reading this gem from Neil Postman, titled "Informing Ourselves to Death." The talk looks at disruptive technologies, but points out that there are "losers" as well as "winners" when these emerge, and proceeds to explain why information has become nearly meaningless. His conclusions are in direct conflict with what I imagine many people here believe about the boon computers and information have provided to the world, but his argument is an interesting one, and hopefully it will challenge the way you think about this "Information Age."
