Much like with Brexit, there are those who are desperate -- desperate! -- to change the outcome of an vote when it doesn't go their way.

The most benign example of this is calling for a re-vote since clearly the stupid masses didn't understand it the first time. Like when Antonio Villaraigosa called for a vote during the DNC in 2012: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ST-eE4Ud7nw (skip to 1:55)

Calling on the Electoral College to change their votes is yet another example.
