From the top of my head: - A Nobel Prize laureate made a joke at a conference lunch, it costed him and his wife their jobs. [0] - Rosetta comet landing twisted from success into abusing one of the lead scientists. [1] - There was someone about to or after losing his/her home over a Twitter shitstorm, but I can't for life remember who he or she was now :/. There are many more stories if you read reports on abuse of Twitter, which has turned into the literal "Internet hate machine".
