Everyone ignores this when talking about taxes. I had an accountant do the math for me out of curiosity if I were to move to the Netherlands - and my marginal tax rate would have increased a whopping 7%. I would have saved more than that in health care related expenses, so it was more or less a wash with that included. People that say the US is low taxed are simply not paying attention. I pay comparable "all in" taxes as my Canadian co-workers. |
