There's one Supreme Court opening now, and a good chance of at least one more in the next four years. Who gets to make those nominations could have long-lasting ramifications.
All of my state and local elections are filled with bullshit issues and bullshit candidates too.
Voting isn't going to do shit in NJ. Never has. Never will. That's because everything is super corrupted around here since we're one of the oldest and most populated states.
My time is better spent doing things I enjoy. If I wanted to change things for the better, I'd move to a better area.
I had my share of those, but I have the feeling that the current candidates are equally bad. If I vote for one of them, I am responsible for what they end up doing to the country.
I think what GFK_of_xmaspast is saying is that, even if you think that all (remember third party!) Presidential candidates are equally bad, you should go vote for the other things on your ballot. Local/state initiatives, local representatives, etc.
Honestly, in many ways, those are likely to directly affect you _way_ more than the President anyway. Most (all?) states will let you leave parts of your ballot blank; just don't pick a President if you don't want to.
This is not the place. Keep that bullshit on Twitter, Facebook or somewhere else.
