Sounds like you're making shit up just to be difficult. The giant button on perl6.org says "Rakudo is a compiler for Perl 6 code", it leads you to a page of choices, among which is a link to a binaries where you choose your platform.

It's like complaining that you have to use `gcc` when learning the C Programming Language and being flabbergasted to find there are multiple versions of it.

Lolno. Just pointing out that that post is likely what got him riled up and thereby resulting in his mistake. I've moderated lots of stuff for years, my baseline expectation is always "moderator mistake" rather than "bias". Just the mote/beam level of this particular case seemed sufficient to be worth commenting on.

Then once I'd posted that, I downvoted zoffix myself for being unconstructive and went and tracked him down on IRC (we've known each other for years) and pointed out that even if you're right, accusing somebody of being intentionally obstructive is pretty much never constructive.

To answer your question the moarvm is mentioned in all the release announcements and in the compilation instructions and in most of the blogs.perl.org posts that I read. For example:

"This is the third post-Christmas (production) release of Rakudo Star and implements Perl v6.c. It comes with support for the MoarVM backend..."

"Deconfusion note: if you're just a regular Perl 6 user, you likely use and only ever heard of Rakudo Star, which is a distribution that includes the Rakudo Perl 6 Compiler, some modules, and the docs. This post details a release of that compiler only, which gets released more often than Rakudo Star. So please don't think there's a new release, if Star is all you use."
