I think that is intended to represent your "current" laptop that you need to replace. The premise being you have an older one and want to consider some options other than the 2016 MacBook Pro.

That's what I think is shady. The image gives you a feeling the surface is way thinner than macbook pro. But down below they mentioned the new macbook pro (with touch bar) in the chart. If people are not paying attention they can get mislead to think surface is way thinner than the new macbook pro right?
