That's an extreme example. How many people are going to fight to keep their home after having power and water cut and a 30-foot pit dug around it? Keep in mind that on the whole, Chinese people are much more likely to give up personal property/liberty for the benefit of the state. It's a massive generalization of course, but the difference between Chinese and American mindsets is really significant. |
