As I often tell people when talking about mobile devices: we're not there yet. Not from a hardware point of view, not from a software one. We're not even close. Smartphones still have a long way to go. Battery life sucks, software sucks, updates suck. Not to say they aren't great devices, but they still suck big time.

Makers are beating around the bush because they can't innovate anymore, and make you pay top dollar for 64/128 GB of memory. I will hold onto my Nexus 5 (not an Android fanboy, it just happened to be the one device that fit the bill) till the day it chokes, because it was just about the only phone worth the money. 700€+ for any device is a completely ridiculous price for what it can offer today.
