Simply stop and disable the windows update service, and turn it on when you have time to actually install updates. Been doing it this way for more than a year now without problems. Of course you'll have to remember to turn it on to check for updates, but that's no different from using manual updates in past versions of Windows. The only downside is that certain things, i.e. Add/remove features might not work 100% while the service is disabled. |
