TLDR; Because Cal Henderson made the initial commit. He's obviously a big fan of the language, and surely had a big hand in influencing what technology would be chosen very early on. PHP can be like playing with dynamite. If you have an explosives expert on site (or Cal Henderson), you can get a helluva lot done with PHP in a very short amount of time. |
