Engineer seniority has a lot of variance.
Some do it based on years of experience, ranging from 5 to 10 years and that would differ from company to company. In my understanding, a senior engineer is an engineer that can contribute without the need for technical supervision. Now, not requiring supervision is different to leadership. A senior engineer is often an individual contributor, not necessarily a team technical leader. |
