Yes, I also feel old when I hear people talk about games, that came out when I was already >18, as "classics".

You shouldn't feel bad about that, some games are considered classics far sooner than 13 years. Take Half Life 2 or Bioshock for easy examples. Classic /= retro, it can mean highly influential or innovative as well.
