Batteries are (un)surprisingly hard to get right. You store an incredible amount of energy in a very small space. Any issue in the supply chain - anyone cutting corners anywhere - can cause serious issues. This is what people get for demanding incredibly powerful computers with reasonably long battery life at the smallest possible sizes. |
