I suspect that you never checked what information they collect. On Android, apart from location the app requires following permissions [0]: - SMS (read, send, receive)
- Photos/media/files (read, modify, delete SD card contents)
- WiFi connection information
- Full network access
- View network connections
- Read Google service configuration
- Modify system settings
