As someone who plays board games multiple times a week, Pandemic suffers from getting very monotonous after a couple of plays. It's a game you should play, but not purchase yourself.
I'm not a fan of Pandemic, but Pandemic Legacy is a fantastic change on this monotony. 15-18 games spread over longer period, where the rules (and the board) change as you play. Not for everyone, especially if you don't manage to get a semi-regular group to play, but we had a blast with the story-based gameplay.
