Chinese companies are certainly innovating and they are picking up R&D teams anywhere on the planet. For example you have Andrew Ng as Chief Scientist at Baidu Research in Silicon Valley even though Baidu pretty much only operates solely in the Chinese market. |

As an analogy, Russian VC money supported FB. I don't believe that is an argument that Russia is a tech innovator.
