Great article. For me this is the money quote: “The culture is very persecutory. If something goes wrong it’s usually followed by a witch-hunt, and the result is very chilling. People are afraid to take risks.” This applies top to bottom (and has nothing to do with the current rage between republicans and democrats). The 1400 pages of travel regulations are a classic symptom. |
