In 2011 I showed a simple server monitoring tool called Amon (https://www.amon.cx). The project got a really good reception (front page) on HN and it even helped me land a job at a Y Combinator company (S12 Batch). 5 years later the projects is still going strong, profitable and I still really enjoy working on it.
