Since it doesn't actually solve any problem that any consumer actually has, I predict that it's going to go away in about 2021 and the 3.5mm jack will stick around. Personally I don't care about USB-C because it doesn't actually solve any problems for me. At least when we went to Micro-USB my device chargers became interchangeable and I didn't have to go home to charge my phone anymore. I have USB-C on my laptop at work, and so far I'm pretty unimpressed with it. I'd much rather just have a second DisplayPort. |
