It's hard to feel sorry for Gawker here. Hogan was filmed having sex in private without his knowledge or consent and they ran the video anyways. This is both illegal and morally repugnant.

They brazenly violated the law in a way that hurt people and now they are trying to craft a narrative of powerful billionaires attacking the press without just cause.

If Forbes is right, Thiel did us all a service by taking out the trash. No one should have their sex life on public display against their will when they never gave permission or even had an expectation of filming.
