There is no conceivable metric that shows the Apple watch as a success. Apple, which routinely leaks units sold to business media, has not provided numbers for the watch. According to analysts sales dropped 90% a month after launch and 66% of watches sold were the low end model. Apple is a remarkably successful hardware company but (so far) their watch has fallen flat.

Analysts estimate that Apple sold 12 million units of the Apple Watch in the first year. http://www.wsj.com/articles/apple-watch-with-sizable-sales-c...

>Apple, which routinely leaks units sold to business media

This doesn't happen because for every other major product they disclose their sales every quarter.

There aren't also "official" numbers for Samsung smartphones, but everyone says they are the best sellers.

There are no analysts numbers that support what you said.

And the "low end" model is above what others call the "high end" model.

The Apple Watch is, in all analysts reports, the #1 smart watch in sales numbers, by a wide margin.

Yes, Fitbit and Xiaomi may sell more, but those are $150 and $14 fitness bands, a stopgap solution.
