The mobile space was aready hotting up. Nokia, alone in 2005 was already selling over 250M devices at around 35-40% market share. They were already using ARM chips. Forecast for smartphones was already high, since the whole mobile industry was posiioning itself to upgrade. It was always a question of getting the telcos to improve their 2G networks to 3G before the smartphone explosion was expected. Intel should have known this. |
