But who's to say that's what they intended at the start? They may well have entirely expected to make it a successful startup, only to find themselves unable to make the profit required to do so, so they got acquihired.

If you wanted to use an app with open source and a permanent future you should have installed an open source app. Installing a closed source app created by a business and depending on them open sourcing it when the business closes is folly.

I don't even use it and keep away from software like this. I just recognize the morality involved. But hey, thanks for going the expected route. :)

Ah OK, so you don't have any skin in the game, you're just here to argue on the internet. Makes sense.

Which is to say that you're aware of viewpoints alternative to your own, but you have no interest in hearing them out, you just want to shout until you win.

If that's what you need to get through your day, congratulations on your great victory.

> Which is to say

Nope, i expected you to attempt victim blaming. But hey, jumping to more conclusions is not unexpected either.

Software like what?

Software made by people who have no obvious plan for revenue and have not demonstrated a desire to help people.

Literally the first question i ask about most things i use is: What's your path to liquidity? If the answer to that is a shrug, then staying away is a good bet.
