> It doesn't really seem to have much of a downside - assuming you're just presenting whatever you come up with to the team later as an option, and not going crazy and replacing production systems without asking. That's a big if. The fear is that such a person doesn't have the judgment to not be the type of person who goes into personal-overdrive into making unfeasible changes (or, worse, into bikeshedding). It doesn't mean that such a person is a horrible person, just that opening lines of communication should be a priority, rather than letting that person put themselves in a position of difficulty. |
