Akido Labs is looking for a full stack web developer to join an organization with nation-wide hospital access paired with a team of seasoned technologists and healthcare executives to revolutionize how data is used in healthcare. Akido Labs is a rapidly growing healthcare technology organization built out of Keck Medicine’s Digital Health Lab and backed by Y Combinator. Health care has suffered from a data drought, setting it decades behind other industries. Recently however, the widespread adoption of Electronic Health Records has generated an unprecedented amount of digital health data. Akido Labs is on a mission to unlock the power of this data in order to improve access to quality care consumers across America. The role:
Our engineers are involved in all parts of the product lifecycle: ideation, design, prototyping, planning, execution, and shipping. The full stack web developer will lead development of web applications deployed in health systems across the US. We work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and rely on agile development methodologies, constantly iterating and testing with our end users to ensure that our products have a direct impact on healthcare’s most difficult problems. - Deep full stack web application development experience
- Ruby on Rails (2 years minimum, 5 preferred)
- JavaScript with jQuery
- HTML5, CSS (SASS), MVC web frameworks, Websockets
- Heroku style deployments Icing on top:
- React, Bootstrap
- Postgres/MySQL or similar relational databases
- IOS/Android app development, Java backend/servlets
- API design patterns for performance, accessibility, usability, scalability and security
- UI design and perfecting the user flows in UX
- Knowledge of Linux environments and scripting Contact
