The "who had all the odds against her" part made me feel sick. I'm seeing nothing about sleeping in a car, or any hint of a struggle aside from academia. Maybe it's just because my childhood was so shitty, but I can't feel empathy here. You don't need a CS degree to become a well paid programmer, I couldn't even afford to finish college and I do well. The little secret is you need to do a large amount of independent study,programming side projects, etc to become a decent programmer. |
