If you like the idea of self-hosting your transactional email server, check out Cuttlefish[1][2] - it's a slick open-source solution for this. We spun it up with a dedicated IP and gradually warmed it up to ~13k emails/day over several days. It's been smooth sailing and incurs no additional monetary costs.
