And I think they want to shut the L train down for a bit to fix the tunnel (Huricanne damage..). Thats not going to be good for anyone in Brooklyn.

Not just a bit: 18 months in both directions, or 3 years of single tunnel shutdown. Pretty horrible for anyone who depends on that train.
I can't see why anyone living in non-JMZ Williamsburg would renew their lease this year, unless they're biking regardless of weather conditions.
Sounds like the plan is to wait for the tunnel to have more serious damage, then just down the tunnel for 4 years to fix it as an emergency. /s

You can't just ignore maintenance because it's hard, doing that just means you chose to do it when it's even harder.
