Rings a bit hollow.

Easy solution - don't develop games for Windows or Xbox!

That's what sparked the creation of SteamOS. Let's hope developers get onboard and hardware vendors start (seriously) supporting the platform.
Steam is pretty much what windows is trying to do.
That's pretty much commercial suicide, at this point in time, for developers like him.
No it's not. There's always Sony, Nintendo and, of course, Steam - which will be void of UWP garbage.
You don't seem to understand that UWP is a frontal assault on Steam.
And you and Microsoft need to understand that you cannot win against Steam as is evidenced by their embarrassing Windows gaming failures. You either embrace Steam or you're relegated to irrelevance.
PC gaming (Windows) is a huuuge market. The GPU drivers support for Linux is poor.
Only the AMD ones. The Nvidia binary is actually pretty good and updated frequently.

Although if you're a Free/OSS zealot, you might not want to use the closed drivers. But if your alternative is the equally closed drivers on Windows, then what's the difference?
