Good luck. A Ph.D. student of my dad's developed some great tech Google was interested in, and was in buyer's talks to purchase. After a bunch of negotiation, they agreed to a price in the low 7 figures. Awaiting notarization. In a festive mood, he disclosed, apparently, quite a bit about the algorithm. Google walked. Cancelled everything. The notary, the deal. They didn't need the IP. Just needed to know how it worked, and they got what they needed. Be careful out there. I didn't know this kind of stuff happened outside of tense procedural court dramas. I guess it happens. |
