Also, Vulkan is going to support extensions like OpenGL did which fragmented the hell out of OpenGL. Nvidia is already beginning the lock in and fragmentation process by making Vulkan extensions. https://developer.nvidia.com/engaging-voyage-vulkan >NVIDIA will therefore provide a few Vulkan extensions from day zero, so that you as developer can enjoy less obstacles on your path to Vulkan.
