I've been toying around with the idea of SPL, Species Programming Language. See Brent Yorgey's thesis. Like APL, functions would be able to match where they bind within a data structure. Instead of just multidimensional arrays it would handle all combinatorial species; think lists, trees, graphs, cycles, ... Still haven't found a syntax I like yet. Yorgey and Classen both have nice Haskell libraries as a springboard. |
