I guess it's also amplified by the fact that people tend to accept things as true by default, until it's proven otherwise. In other words, insertion of data is the way cheaper then its invalidation and probably happen much more frequently thanks to social media.

Agree- I think an anonymous dislike button might help catch some of the bs posts- I know I would certainly use it a lot on my feed! At the very least, it would make the poster consider what they have posted in some cases and realise that people do not agree with or trust the content within that post.
