This is significantly more interesting than writing a PHP game server. Haskell is different enough from C like languages that you can't borrow patterns from existing implementations. There's a lot of unexplored territory in Haskell. The fact that there are very few comments tells me that people are interested in Haskell but may not have taken the dive yet.
