This is demonstrably incorrect. That's not to say OP should definitely not go to college, but plenty of developers succeed without a degree. You do not need to be a savant, you just need to learn enough on your own that you are a net plus to a business in their eyes. In particular, Google explicitly does not have a requirement for a college degree. I also know from experience that Microsoft doesn't either. |
