There are tons of talks where there is live-coding but it's not boring at all. But it would get hard to get by when the guy writes more than 10 characters. The it's just messy and time-consuming.

The "video suggestion" in the text is a good way to get around this and display an awesome feature without wasting time and any eye-rollings. Also you can only give a link if the code is too complex or too much to display it your slides.
