When I was 22, I wrote some advice for me for when I was 40, which I followed (at 43), and it wasn't bad, although he was kind of a jerk about it.

I'd be interested to know what advise you had for yourself 20 years in the future, and how realistic that advice was?
It was in the middle of a travel journal. It said if you are reading this and are 40, quit your job and start something. I did it (consulting) at the soonest convenient time.

I think there was stuff in there about relationships, but that guy was an idiot.

20 year olds are full of expectations about the world, and your place in it. If you can re-read those expectations and they chime with you, great -- go do it.

If they don't ring true (the relationships stuff) then you've grown older and wiser. Or just grown different, perhaps.
