In the future everyone will be producing content - not just the people that currently do it for a living. Brand-name publishers simply will not be able to compete against the masses. It began with TypePad blogging, and now platforms like Medium are taking social publishing even more mainstream. Which raises more interesting questions: how will this next generation of content producers monetize content, and will they be doing it for a living like the publishers of today? |
